Overview
SUNRATE (寻汇) is a business collection, payout, and treasury platform — not a consumer FX kiosk and not a single-purpose Amazon payout wallet. Cross-border teams open multi-currency accounts, receive marketplace or B2B wires, convert at the in-account rate, and pay factories, ad accounts, or virtual cards. The Chinese site advertises payouts to 190-plus countries, 130-plus payment currencies, and 30-plus collection currencies. That is company copy.
Public record: launched in 2016 (Shanghai entity registered 9 November 2015), global HQ in Singapore, offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Jakarta, and London. Help centre says it holds a China payments licence and permissions in Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the UK and others. In 2025 it agreed to buy Transfar Payment for about RMB 315 million to secure a domestic licence; March 2026 reporting said the licensed China entity was renamed SUNRATE Pay. The old catalog line “fees 0–0.5%” is not a 2026 public tariff. Fees are disclosed in the account.
It sits on the same shopping list as Airwallex and Payoneer, but leans harder into B2B settlement, API, and FX. A small FBA shop that only wants one payout account will find it heavier than a wallet.
Core features and advantages
Global collection (marketplaces and trade)
You can request local or global receiving accounts, bind Amazon-style stores, or collect B2B wires. The help centre documents Amazon authorisation, AliExpress, and Shopify inflows via PayPal or Stripe. In December 2025 SUNRATE announced a Walmart marketplace payment solution so sellers can receive platform payouts into a SUNRATE account. Hong Kong and Singapore trade accounts have been described as issuing in T+0 to T+3 business days. Cash, cheques, letters of credit, and unrelated personal remittances are out of scope.
International payments, FX, and withdrawals
Payouts are marketed across 190-plus countries and 130-plus currencies, mixing local rails and SWIFT, including bulk supplier payments. RMB withdrawals require trade documents in-product to unlock a settlement quota. The Hong Kong user agreement says fees appear in the SUNRATE account and may change; if you refuse, you stop using the service. There is no corridor-by-corridor public percentage table.
Cards, acquiring, and API
SUNRATE cards can be issued in the dashboard or via API for ads and subscriptions. Global acquiring targets independent sites and subscription merchants (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, UnionPay; WeChat/Alipay for China cross-border). The acquiring FAQ lists annual fees, commissions, about USD 0.30 per card transaction, 3DS and chargeback fees, all “subject to underwriting.” Open API is the ERP hook. Support: support@sunrate.com; China site phone 021-50762388 (weekdays 09:00–20:00).
Supported platforms
Ecommerce mentions include Amazon, AliExpress, Walmart marketplace, and Shopify via PayPal/Stripe. B2B trade is a separate product line — do not expect FBA-wallet behaviour on a commercial invoice. Company registration is the default; the help centre says individual signup is currently aimed at Chinese and Vietnamese ecommerce sellers. Sanctioned corridors and personal transfers without a trade story get rejected. The live list of account types in the dashboard is the source of truth.
Who it's for
- Mid-size trade or ecommerce companies with documents that want one account to collect, pay suppliers, and run FX.
- Independent sites, SaaS, travel that need acquiring plus multi-currency payouts, not only Amazon.
- Teams with finance and compliance staff who will complete KYC and settlement files.
- Skip it if you are a solo seller who just wants Payoneer in three minutes, if you have no trade background, or if you treat “0–0.5%” as a contract.
Concrete use: a Shenzhen exporter puts a SUNRATE USD account into Amazon, converts part of the balance to RMB for the factory, and keeps USD for ads. Before you migrate the store, open the fee page and ask Airwallex, Payoneer, and Lianlian for an all-in quote on the same notional (inbound, FX spread, payout).
Pricing and value
There is no public collection rate card. The HK agreement points at in-account fees. Acquiring is sales-led (annual + percentage + per-item). Older Q&As claimed zero account fees and 0–0.5% style FX; do not use those as 2026 contract rates. For mid-to-large clients, local clearing can beat a retail SWIFT; small, frequent FBA payouts need the spread and the withdrawal fee in writing.
Community feedback
Cifnews carries a company profile and product posts; discussion volume is below Payoneer and WorldFirst. A handful of five-star notes exist on the Amazon Selling Partner Appstore (“low fee, reliable”) — too few to treat as consensus. English Reddit has almost no SUNRATE threads. In Chinese seller chats it shows up as “trade collection / treasury,” not “first account for a new FBA shop.” Support is email, the relationship manager, and the Shanghai number — not Twitter tickets.
Competitive positioning
Airwallex is the better-known global operating account, cards, and storefront acquiring. Payoneer wins on being a default in marketplace dashboards and on individual onboarding. Lianlian and PingPong show up on RMB off-ramp comparison tables for China sellers. SUNRATE’s difference is the B2B settlement gateway, FX, and API — not a “1% cap” collection slogan. Large shops should dual-rail.
Alternatives
- Airwallex: multi-currency business accounts, FX, and payouts.
- Payoneer: the payout option already sitting in many marketplace dashboards.
- Lianlian International: a common China-seller collection and RMB settlement rail.
Limitations
No public tariff, so comparison means three dashboards. KYC and FX paperwork are heavier than a consumer wallet. Acquiring has reserves and chargebacks. Personal inflows, cash, and L/Cs are refused. Malaysia MSB was still reported as approval-in-principle in 2025 — read the live licence page. Small sellers will find the product suite heavy.
Verdict
If you have a company, marketplace inflows, and global supplier payouts, put SUNRATE on the quote sheet. If you only need one FBA binding, Payoneer or Lianlian is usually lighter. Do not cost a corridor off an old 0–0.5% banner.
Next step: register the store entity at www.sunrate.com or cn.sunrate.com, read the in-account fee page, and run a test withdrawal against Airwallex, Payoneer, and Lianlian.
