Overview

AMZScout Sales Estimator is the free web calculator inside the AMZScout suite, at amzscout.net/sales-estimator. It is not a Keepa chart and not Seller Central orders. Three fields: country marketplace, category, Best Seller Rank (BSR). Calculate Sales returns an estimated monthly units figure. The page itself says those numbers move and that sales history is required for a full picture, then upsells the PRO AI Chrome extension and paid research reports.

Footer: AMZScout Corp. (Philadelphia), Growthco DMCC (Dubai), copyright 2016–2026, support@amzscout.net. On 2026-09-06 the pricing page listed AMZScout AI Bundle at $59.99 / 1 month, $169.99 / 3 months, $399.99 / 12 months. The estimator sits under Free Tools with the FBA fees calculator and Stock Stats. Vendor copy still says estimates can be “up to 90% accurate.” That is marketing. Independent write-ups range from roughly 70% to much worse. A BSR-to-units model is not order data.

Cross-border sellers use it to answer “what does this rank mean in this category” before they cut a 1688 PO — not as the only replenishment number.

Core features and advantages

Country + category + BSR

The same BSR is an order of magnitude different in Toys versus Industrial. Forcing a category is why this page is more serious than a generic rank table. Concrete use: open a competitor, copy Best Sellers Rank and the category path, pick the right store, then calculate. Parent versus child category mistakes junk the output. The formula is not published as an auditable paper.

Free point estimate, paid history

The estimator is a snapshot. AMZScout’s own copy sends you to Niche History / Product History in the PRO AI extension for seasonality and decay. The free page can stop you treating a BSR 800 in a dead industrial niche as a winner. It cannot stop you treating a Christmas spike as a run-rate. That needs Keepa or a paid overlay.

Fees live elsewhere

A separate free FBA Fees Calculator exists. The estimator ignores first-mile, ads, and returns. Before you buy inventory, still run FBA Calculator and add your own freight.

Supported platforms

Amazon only. The public UI is “Select Country”; which stores appear is the live dropdown, not a guessed list here. Not Shopify, eBay, or Walmart. Output is estimated units, not Buy Box share.

Who it's for

  • Solo / new sellers who have not bought a suite and need a category-sized sanity check.
  • OA / wholesale scanners who want a rank-to-volume order of magnitude before opening Keepa.
  • Skip it if Helium 10 or SellerSprite is already daily, or if you would treat the number as safety stock.

Concrete use: a US kitchen small-appliance ASIN at BSR 1,200. Run US + the matching category here, then Keepa for 90-day BSR. If the curve only dipped on Prime Day, do not stock to the estimator’s pretty monthly figure.

Pricing and value

The estimator page is free; this check did not hit a paywall on the calculator itself. Bundle prices above; confirm on amzscout.net/pricing. Third parties mention a lifetime SKU — this page only quotes month / quarter / year visible on the pricing page. A 10-day money-back line appears there; read it at checkout. If you only need BSR conversion, stay free. If you want history and keywords in one login, compare annual Bundle against Keepa Pro plus Amazon’s own calculator.

Community feedback

The estimator page cites Trustpilot “Excellent” and two short quotes — vendor selection. Reddit research threads treat AMZScout as a cheaper Helium 10 / Jungle Scout alternative: some praise database size, others trust sales estimates less than the two incumbents. The shared rule: triangulate, do not marry one estimator. English forums do not treat it as the default China-seller console.

Competitive positioning

Keepa is history, and does not pretend BSR is exact units. SellerSprite is the Chinese research suite. FBA Calculator is fees, not demand. AMZScout Estimator’s edge is a no-account category BSR conversion. Deep research still means a paid extension or another suite.

Alternatives

  • Keepa — whether BSR and price are stable, not a single monthly print.
  • FBA Calculator — official FBA vs FBM fees.
  • SellerSprite — Chinese UI for product and keyword research.

Limitations

Point estimate, no seasonality. Accuracy is a marketing number. Wrong category wastes the result. The free page funnels to a paid extension and outsourced research. Not keywords or ads. US/Dubai entities versus Chinese-language support are not verified here.

Verdict

Bookmark the free page for a BSR magnitude check in 2026. Do not size inbound to it. Next step is always Keepa plus official fees.

Next step: run one live competitor BSR on amzscout.net/sales-estimator, then immediately overlay 90-day rank on Keepa. Open pricing only if you want the full suite.

Data notes

Rechecked 2026-09-06 against the estimator page and pricing (AI Bundle $59.99 / $169.99 / $399.99). published (2024-03-15) is not the 2016 company start and is unverified as product launch day. monthlyVisits, domainRating, and authorityScore are placeholders and unverified. Vendor 90% accuracy, Trustpilot pull-quotes, and lifetime SKUs need separate confirmation. Marketplace dropdown is source of truth.
