Overview
Good Email Copy (the page title is “Just Good Copy”) is a Front-sponsored, free swipe file: real subject lines and bodies from companies, searchable by tag and keyword. On 2026-09-06 the site loaded; static assets were last modified 2018-12-21, and the front end still pulls a public Trello board. It works. It is not a product anyone is updating weekly.
Cross-border DTC sellers use it for one job: before writing a welcome, a confirm, an outage apology, or a renewal nudge, look at how Slack or Harry’s actually wrote it, instead of inventing tone from a blank page. It is not an ESP. It cannot send, cannot hold a list, cannot run abandoned-checkout flows. Sending still happens in Klaviyo or your store’s native mail.
The masthead says “Email copy from great companies. Brought to you by Front.” Submissions go to goodcopy@frontapp.com. There is no login wall and no pricing page. For a 2026 seller it is a reference shelf, not an operating system.
Core features and advantages
Real subject lines and bodies
Each card splits subject, brand, and body. It is not a fill-in-the-blank template. Store welcome series default to “welcome to the family”; the archive shows how SaaS and DTC brands put one concrete next step in the first screen (set a password, open the workspace, use the first-order code). You adapt tone and product names. You do not paste the whole letter — many originals carry trademarks and dead campaigns.
Tags and search
The page exposes a search box and a tag cloud; the placeholder cites password, Slack, downtime, marketing. Support-shaped mail (resets, outages, cancellations) is more useful than “blast copy”: a cross-border shop that stocks out or misses a cutoff needs a scannable apology, not another 20% off. The taxonomy is English-brand-centric. Do not expect Chinese or Japanese source copy.
No-account workflow
Open and read. That is enough to draft three core letters (welcome, delayed shipment, win-back) in a doc before design. There is no brand-kit export, no HTML template, no A/B. Front uses the site as content marketing, not as a mail product for sale.
Supported platforms
Good Email Copy does not connect to Shopify, Amazon, Shopee, or any store. The corpus is mostly English consumer brands and SaaS. You rewrite a sentence and paste it into Klaviyo, Shopify Email, or Mailchimp. There is no localized edition and no Amazon Buyer-Seller Messaging pack.
Who it's for
- Small DTC teams without a dedicated copywriter who still need transactional mail to sound like a person.
- Agencies: show a client a real analogue instead of an AI paragraph.
- Skip it if you only send Amazon buyer messages, if you already live in Klaviyo’s flow canvas, or if you need 2026 peak-season examples — this archive barely moves.
Concrete use: before a Shopify launch, draft welcome and “parcel late” mail. Search welcome and downtime, copy how they put ownership and the next step in the first three lines, then swap in your transit times and support address. Do not copy Harry’s 800 number into your footer.
Pricing and value
Free. No plan, no trial clock. The cost is your time to rewrite and to stay compliant (CAN-SPAM, GDPR consent, unsubscribe links belong to the ESP). Front may recoup via brand; the seller is not billed. Do not pay a reseller for “template packs” you can read here in the original.
Community feedback
Copy blogs and YouTube still list it among “three places to steal email copy,” usually next to Really Good Emails: this one is text-first, that one is designed HTML. There is almost no dedicated Reddit thread in 2025–2026. The complaints are the obvious ones: examples are old, English, and skewed to tech and personal care; TikTok Shop and Southeast Asia COD are absent. Submissions still go to goodcopy@frontapp.com with no public review queue.
Competitive positioning
It is not on the same layer as Klaviyo: Klaviyo sends, segments, and texts; this site only shows sentences. Really Good Emails (not in this catalog) is layout. A chatbot can draft from a brief but cannot show “this company actually sent that.” For sending or review collection, use an ESP or something like MailZone, not a swipe file.
Alternatives
- Klaviyo — the sending layer for DTC lifecycle email and SMS.
- MailZone Overseas Postcard Automation — physical review cards when email copy is the wrong job.
- Yotpo — reviews and loyalty, not welcome-letter copy.
Limitations
The corpus has been effectively frozen since 2018; subject-line density and emoji habits have moved on. English only. Not a sending tool and no deliverability stats. The Trello dependency means images can vanish. Copyright sits with the original brands; learn structure, do not republish. Almost useless for Amazon or Shopee in-platform messages.
Verdict
Still worth bookmarking in 2026: fifteen minutes of real sentences before you write transactional mail beats buying another “1,000 templates” pack. Do not expect it to build your Klaviyo flows or track this year’s promo calendar.
Next step: open goodemailcopy.com, search welcome or downtime, and rewrite into your ESP.
Data notes
Rechecked 2026-09-06 against goodemailcopy.com (HTTP 200, S3 Last-Modified: 2018-12-21) and the Front byline. published (2024-03-15), monthlyVisits, domainRating, and authorityScore are catalog placeholders and unverified. First launch day is unverified. The Trello board is still called by the front end; card count was not audited that day.
