Overview
Epay (epay.com) is a Hong Kong-based wallet launched in 2014: multi-currency accounts, FX, payouts to 180-plus countries, and conversion of USD (and others) into CNY onto a mainland card or Alipay. It is not the same daily tool as Payoneer or LianLian. Those products exist to give Amazon or TikTok Shop a local receiving account the marketplace recognises. Epay is closer to a remittance network plus e-wallet that also takes ads, affiliate, DTC, and some marketplace proceeds. The old catalogue URL carried a remdid affiliate query; that is stripped.
The Chinese homepage splits the product into global collection, global payouts, and CNY settlement. Headline claims: 100-plus countries, 1 million-plus registered users, 6,000-plus financial partners, 80-plus currencies, PCI DSS, and “licences in multiple markets.” Company copy also cites a Hong Kong MSO, a US MSB, and early EMI-related credentials — licence numbers are not listed on the homepage and are not treated as verified here. Trustpilot's company card shows a Shenzhen Nanshan address, +86 755 2224 8883, and cici@epay.com. Hong Kong Companies Registry data for 易派有限公司 / Epay Limited gives incorporation 2014-08-05.
For a cross-border seller the honest use is a SWIFT/local receiving name when the marketplace will not issue a local account, small CNY settlement via Alipay, or paying an overseas vendor. The dishonest use is treating it as your only Amazon payout rail, especially given a persistently poor Trustpilot score.
Core features and advantages
Multi-currency receiving accounts
Vendor posts describe free sub-accounts with no annual or maintenance fee, rails via local clearing, SWIFT, or CIPS, and currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, HKD, and JPY (VND local accounts were marketed in 2023). Scenario pages name cross-border e-commerce, B2B trade, digital marketing, and live social. Once funded you can pay other Epay users (the site says those transfers are free) or withdraw. Whether a marketplace payout in a third-party name is allowed is an account-rule question; the user agreement lists third-party funding and gambling complaints among reject reasons.
CNY settlement and global payouts
Settlement pages stress 24/7 pricing versus bank boards and compliant onshore arrival. The help centre documents Alipay collection, bank-card withdrawal, and SWIFT withdrawal. A 2022 Alipay small-ticket promo (first two transfers free, per-ticket caps) still circulates on third-party directories; it was not on a 2026-09-06 tariff page. Payouts are marketed to 180-plus countries. A July 2023 company LinkedIn post said global payouts from about US$3 per transfer — treat as stale.
Personal vs company KYC
FAQs split personal vs company files, and mainland vs Hong Kong companies. Google Authenticator is required or strongly pushed. Unverified accounts have fewer rights. Fees are “shown in the account” and can change. The anti-fraud FAQ flags the overpayment-then-refund-the-difference scam. The iOS app Epay Wallet is still listed and is copywritten for migrant remittances, not Seller Central.
Supported platforms
There is no official Amazon / Shopee / Shopify bind list on the homepage. Third-party blurbs mention eBay, Shopify, Google Play, and affiliate collections. Card acquiring for a checkout is a different product (an acquirer such as UseePay). “200+ countries / 80+ currencies” is vendor maths. A FAQ entry for countries that cannot open Epay accounts means onboarding is not global.
Who it's for
- Remittance, overseas payroll, ad networks — the original wallet design.
- B2B exporters who need a same-name SWIFT account to show a buyer.
- Sellers who already have a marketplace wallet and want a second FX/payout path, tested small.
- Skip it as the primary Amazon/TikTok Shop rail; skip it if you cannot tolerate a compliance freeze.
Concrete use: KYC the company, send a test settlement under the withdrawal limit to an account in the same legal name, screenshot the fee and FX, then decide. Do not park every marketplace payout in this wallet alone.
Pricing and value
No public tariff. The agreement says fees appear in-account and may change. Historical vendor numbers: July 2023 LinkedIn — 0.25% CNY settlement taken at withdrawal, about 10 bp better than Bank of China's spot buying rate, free inbound collection. Directories also repeat Alipay promo caps (~US$7,500 per ticket, annual per-payee limits). None of that is a 2026 list price. The agreement's refund table cites a US$40 fee example when an international wire is returned. Read the quote on the order ticket.
Community feedback
Trustpilot showed about 2.2/5 (“Poor”) and 93 reviews as of early September 2026, few new reviews in 12 months, no company replies to negatives. Recurring themes: frozen balances that cannot be withdrawn, dead support, local-bank top-ups stopped, repeated KYC. Older five-star posts praise speed and a named account manager. Turkish complaint boards cluster on failed withdrawals. Reddit has no seller consensus thread. Sample bias: these are wallet/remittance users, not Amazon FBA diaries.
Competitive positioning
Payoneer, WorldFirst, and LianLian show up in marketplace backends and have thicker help centres. Airwallex is the global business-account shape. Epay's difference is remittance coverage and a cheaper-sounding FX story, with weaker licence disclosure and dispute handling. Do not confuse it with Yeepay, Taiwan's ECPay, or Denmark's ePay gateway.
Alternatives
- Payoneer: the default local-account rail for Amazon/eBay.
- WorldFirst: CNY to card or Alipay with more e-commerce documentation.
- LianLian Global: more public platform list; promo rates still in-account only.
Limitations
Not positioned as an Amazon official payout partner. Trustpilot is structurally weak. Fees are opaque. You eat the float during a freeze. Licence numbers are not on the homepage. Help content is operational FAQ, not a seller SLA. Directory sites have used referral links.
Verdict
Keep Epay as a remittance and FX backup. Using it as the only Amazon settlement account is out of step with how most exporters run 2026. Next step: register a company profile at epay.com, read the in-account fee, send one test withdrawal, and compare Payoneer, WorldFirst, or LianLian for the primary rail.
Data notes
Rechecked 2026-09-06 against epay.com (ZH home + FAQ + agreement), Trustpilot (~2.2/5), and the July 2023 LinkedIn fee post. Affiliate remdid removed from website. monthlyVisits, domainRating, and authorityScore are placeholders, unverified. 0.25% settlement, Alipay caps, and the US$3 payout fee are historical. MSO/MSB certificate numbers were not checked one-by-one on the site.
