Overview
QuestionDB (questiondb.io) is a question-research tool, not an Amazon keyword suite and not review monitoring. Cross-border sellers use it to see how English-speaking buyers actually ask in Google’s People Also Ask, Reddit, and Quora, then write DTC FAQs, A+ modules, and content pages. The site was live on 2026-09-06. Early builds led with a Reddit question dump (older blurbs said ~48 million). The current homepage pairs SERP, PAA, People Also Search, Reddit, and Quora with difficulty, CPC, and volume.
The job is “the phrase in your title is not the sentence in the forum.” It does not estimate ASIN sales, does not talk to Seller Central, and does not replace Google Keyword Planner for official volume. Free is 5 searches a month — a trial, not a daily SEO desk.
Core features and advantages
Multi-source questions, not only autocomplete
The pitch is forum sentences plus SERP questions, longer and more spoken than dropdown seeds. Table, card, and tree views. CSV or tree-image export. Concrete use: before a US DTC page for wool dryer balls, search the phrase, pull Reddit questions about static, smell, and “does it work” into the FAQ, then confirm US volume in Keyword Planner and seasonality in Google Trends. Do not bid Amazon PPC on forum heat.
Difficulty, CPC, volume
Paid plans unlock those metrics. The vendor calls the data real-time; treat the export timestamp as the truth, not an audited Ahrefs pull. An AI keyword extractor is on the homepage for pulling questions off a competitor URL. It does not write the listing.
A cheap trial
Homepage and reviews say no credit card for the free plan. Five searches per month. A January 2025 r/roastmystartup thread complained that a logged-out search already burned quota — the funnel is still being sanded. This is not Helium 10-grade infrastructure.
Supported platforms
Sources are Google SERP modules plus Reddit and Quora. The research UI exposes country and language (United States / English on the public page). Not an Amazon, Shopify, or TikTok app. Output is a question list you paste into a brief. Amazon search terms still come from search-term reports or a sourcing suite.
Who it's for
- DTC / one-person content who need English FAQs and blog angles.
- Brand-site SEO that must reflect Reddit wording now that Google surfaces forums.
- Skip it if you only run Amazon ads, need Amazon volume, or want clustered sentiment across many subs (that is a different, usually paid, Reddit research product).
Pricing and value
questiondb.io/pricing on 2026-09-06: Free 5 searches/month; Solo $9.99/month (100 searches, volume/difficulty/CPC, CSV and image export); Business $29.99/month (400); Enterprise $69.99/month (1,000). Billed through Paddle. The cap is hard: a weekly content calendar across SKUs will burn Solo. No public annual grid.
Community feedback
The homepage quotes SEO practitioners on questions, content plans, and Reddit intent. r/BigSEO had a 2018 show thread (~27 million Reddit questions then). The 2025 roast post is a low-traffic launch, not a pile-on. Amazon seller subs almost never mention it. Treat homepage quotes as vendor display, not a survey. Chinese-language discussion is thin.
Competitive positioning
QuestionDB eats questions and forums. Google Keyword Planner is official volume. Keywords Everywhere is volume in the SERP. Keyworddit extracts one subreddit for free, narrower. AnswerThePublic eats autocomplete. LSIGraph eats semantic variants. Amazon terms belong in search-term reports, not here.
Alternatives
- Google Keyword Planner — US volume and bid ranges after you lock the questions.
- Keywords Everywhere — volume on the SERP, not Reddit sentences.
- Keyworddit — one subreddit’s wording, free table.
Limitations
Free is a taste. Volume is not Ahrefs. Sources skew English; JP/DE/FR density depends on the country toggle. No Amazon keyword graph. Monthly reset. 2018 posts mentioned timeouts on short queries — time your own search in 2026. It does not write listings.
Verdict
English DTC or content pages that need real questions: QuestionDB is cheap. Amazon PPC keyword lists: use official reports. Next step: open questiondb.io, spend the five free searches on your core SKU, and upgrade to Solo only if the FAQ rows are usable as-is.
Data notes
Rechecked 2026-09-06 against questiondb.io and /pricing. Tariffs are from that page. published (2024-03-15), monthlyVisits, domainRating, and authorityScore are catalog placeholders and unverified. Exact launch day unverified (a Reddit show post exists from 2018). “48 million questions” is older marketing; the current homepage does not lead with that number.
