Weglot sits on top of an existing store or site, detects text, machine-translates it, and publishes language-specific URLs with hreflang. Editors can override strings, lock a glossary, and send key pages to human translators later.
It is for independent-store teams that need a second language live in days, not a full CMS rebuild. Shopify, WordPress, and many other stacks are supported; marketplace listings are out of scope.
Install it after the primary catalog is stable. Translate checkout, shipping, and legal copy first, then product titles. Keep currency and tax logic in the store, not in the translation layer, and spot-check Japanese or German product names before you open ads.
