Itaxs was a UK/German VAT filing SaaS for Amazon sellers; in 2026 its itaxs.com domains are parked for sale, so do not file VAT or IOSS there.

Overview

Itaxs (跨税云, “intelligent tax system”) was a VAT registration and self-filing SaaS aimed at Chinese marketplace sellers, mainly the UK and Germany, later listed for France, Italy, and Spain. Sellers uploaded sales reports, the software calculated VAT, and returns went to the tax office. It was never a Shopify checkout tax engine, and it was not an Australia or India GST calculator.

Do not treat it as a live filing portal on 2026-09-06. https://www.itaxs.com and https://m.itaxs.com fail TLS or reset the connection. Over HTTP, both hosts serve a “domain is for sale” page (Afternic, Aliyun, Sedo and similar). This catalogue previously pointed at the mobile host — the same failure mode. Corporate records still show 跨税云(深圳)科技有限公司 as existing, founded 21 February 2020, which does not prove the app still accepts logins. Anyone with an open UK or German VAT period should move the number to a working agent instead of uploading reports to itaxs.com.

Who files did not change because a domain expired. Marketplace B2C imports into the EU at or under €150 are usually collected under Amazon’s (or another mall’s) IOSS number. FBA or 3PL stock in the UK or Germany still means the seller files local VAT. A non-EU webshop sending low-value parcels to EU consumers needs an EU-established IOSS intermediary for monthly IOSS returns. Older Hugo copy advertised Itaxs IOSS registration (then CNY 2,699). That price cannot be checked first-party now.

Core features and advantages

Historical: UK/DE VAT registration and agent transfer

Directories (AMZ123, 跨境知道, Hugo) described a SaaS linked to UK and German tax authorities: new numbers, agent transfer, calculation, filing, and letter handling. An office address appeared at Tian’an Cloud Park, Longgang, Shenzhen. Treat this as what you may have bought years ago, not a 2026 order form.

Historical: calculation and filing

Old onboarding said: register at itaxs.com, follow the in-app guide, upload reports. The pitch was cheaper, more transparent filing than a fully offline agent. After the domain was parked, even a saved password should not be used to send order-level files to that host.

Historical: IOSS and extra countries

Hugo explainers separated OSS from IOSS and said independent sites could appoint Itaxs as intermediary for monthly, destination-rate IOSS. FR/IT/ES SKUs showed up on nav sites. None of that is verifiable on a first-party page in 2026. Treat every SKU as unverified and not for purchase.

Supported platforms

Public copy targeted Amazon UK and DE, later EU-5. There was no Shopify checkout plugin and no US sales-tax product. IOSS never replaced warehouse-country VAT.

Who it's for

  • Former customers with UK/DE FBA who chose Itaxs for a low annual fee.
  • Sellers whose VAT is still listed under Itaxs: start an agent transfer to eVAT Master, Wincomply, or a local accountant, and lock who files the next period.
  • New sellers: do not create an itaxs.com account. Pick a vendor whose site loads, whose prices you can see, and who can receive tax-office mail.
  • DTC brands: an IOSS intermediary must be established in the EU. A parked domain cannot take that legal role.

Concrete step now: in Seller Central or the tax-office portal, see which agent the VAT number names. If it still says Itaxs / 跨税云, gather the licence, VAT certificate, and last acknowledgement, then ask a live provider to take over and to tell you who submits this period and which account receives the tax.

Pricing and value

There is no usable official price list on 2026-09-06. Hugo FAQ and 跨境知道 once published (CNY/year, unverified today): UK register+file 198, UK file 99, Germany register+file 498, Germany file 399; France ~2,888, Italy ~2,999, Spain (with apostille) ~3,998. Use those only as history. Do not pay anything on the for-sale landing pages.

Community feedback

What exists is Hugo Q&A and directory blurbs, not Reddit threads. Sellers used to ask whether the tax-office API was real and whether uploads were safe. In 2026 the useful questions are: who controls the domain, whether the agency appointment is still valid, and whether the next return will be missed. No official shutdown or domain-move notice turned up in this review.

Competitive positioning

eVAT Master and Wincomply still have working sites and VAT/EPR order paths. Zonos is landed cost at DTC checkout, not a UK VAT number. Itaxs once undercut annual fees; a dead storefront makes that irrelevant.

Alternatives

  • eVAT Master: UK/EU VAT self-filing; homepage and price list loaded on 2026-09-06.
  • Wincomply: VAT plus EPR, authorised representative, and trademarks.
  • Zonos: collect duty and VAT at an independent checkout, not an FBA VAT agency.

Limitations

The blocker is the missing portal. HTTPS fails; HTTP is a domain marketplace. You cannot self-file, receive letters, or verify a support identity from the official URL. Uploading sales reports to a parked host is a data risk.

Verdict

Itaxs used to lower the cost of UK/DE VAT returns. In September 2026 it is not a tool you should log into. Transfer existing numbers; send new work to eVAT Master or Wincomply. Keep marketplace IOSS and warehouse VAT distinct, and do not pay itaxs.com because the brand still appears in old directories.

Next step: skip the for-sale page. Ask eVAT Master or Wincomply to take over the agent appointment and confirm it with the tax office.

Data notes

Checked 2026-09-06: HTTPS to www.itaxs.com and m.itaxs.com failed; HTTP served domain-sale pages. published follows the public company date 2020-02-21.
